this weekend i went to surprise beth on her birthday. she was in warsaw, on the 3rd leg of her 6 week eastern european adventure and i turned up armed with presents and 2 nights in a five star hotel. it was amazing. i have one picture, i'll post it later.

so it's time for the bi monthly lj update, gotta throw some love lj's way really, i've myspacing it up if anyone wonders where i've been...
i'm still working for mcr:music, it's still fun and exciting. i've become a bit more involved with our clubnight, 'plastic surgery', which has really taken off. i'm not doing as many academy unsigned gigs, which is a blessing kinda, altho not as good for the wallet, it's been nice to sleep a little bit more and play some pro evo online vs spaff a fair bit. i've also been taking some film time, catching up and the good shit i've been missing since working a 70 hour week.
beth has gone traveling this month, she's backpacking around europe, sounds like she's having a whale of a time. i miss her lots tho, it costs so much to call her, but i've had to a few times otherwise i'd go crazy. i'm really looking forward to summer with her, first she's coming to my house in may, we're going to see radiohead in blackpool, then it's a super duper 52 teenagers gig in manc, i've put the whole bill together, it's then followed by the plastic surgery club night, hey everyone should come, jen and sean, it would be cool to get you down for the weekend! then it'll be my birthday mid may, i'm goin to brighton for 'the great escape festival', handy seeing as there's a bed in beth's house for me. liam frost is on ther, which will be really cool. all kinds of other fun is on the agenda, festivals, including V and Reading. woo.
i better get back to work now, i'm djing at the topshop launch party tonight! only 3 songs but i'll make em super furry good!

wow, i havnt updated here for literally ages. So, err, happy new year yeah?
What’s going on then? Well the main reason for the lack of update is the lack of change. My life is really settled at the moment. Very hectic like, but it’s great. I’ve been going out with beth now for 7 months, things are going brilliantly, a boy couldn’t ask for a better girlfriend. I see her 2-3 times a month for about 2-5 days at a time. It could be better and I’m sure soon I will see lots more of her. Maybe she will come stay in Manchester with me over the summer. I spent the week before Christmas in Brighton with her, I loved it. Brighton is amazing. The best City I’ve been to in the UK. Its got all these awesome little shops and cafes and milkshake bars, totally non commercial commerce, not a chain store for miles. It’s like The Northern Quarter (Ancoats) in Manchester but times 10. plus when I’m there I’m with beth so that makes it automatically brilliant. I could be in iraq and I’d think it was great if I was with her.
Work is going really well now, totally feel settled and making good money now, which is brilliant. I’m loving running the gigs and getting to see loads of bands, getting on board with the good ones and having a top laugh with most of the people I meet. My 9-5 work involves me ringing up all the dudes that ask for a free trial of the unsigned guide on our website. It’s hard being on the ohone all day but at least I’m not cold calling and all the people I speak to are cool, some are even quite useful contacts for 52teenagers related stuff, which I major bonus.
52 Teenagers are going great guns, really excited about their future now, big plans in the pipeline, lots of gigs coming up, most importantly Feb 9th, so if you want to come, please get in touch.
I used to use this page to release all my angst, now I don’t have any. That’s good. I even went to the dentist this morning and she said that my teeth were better than ever. Happy days.
Well I should go make some phonecalls now.

so much has happened since i last updated. my life is still a runaway train.
yesterday i ran two gigs at once. it was very difficult, but i did it. got through it pretty well, one of the soundchecks ran really late cos my assistant cynthia got stuck in the frieght lift wih the drumkit for half an hour. poor girl. she did great tho, and everything else went really swimmingly.
i was really pleased with myself for managing tho, it felt really good. i felt like i had really acomplished something.
the night before i DJed at my mates night, mega fun too. i kept fucking up but it was way cool anyway. played some class tunes at full volume. mint.
saw beth last weekend and i again will in a few hours. the sun is shining. 52s play tonight. life is alright...

life is moving at a million miles per hour right now
i just figured out that out of the next 18 days, i'm seeing fair bethy anne watson on a grand total of 13 of them. amazing.
during that time, the band have 3 gigs and i have a book to complete at work, almost working single handedly on it.
no wonder i'm getting so stressed.

so i woke up in beth's bed on sunday morning for the first time (not exactly beth's bed actually, the double occasional bed in the spare room that had been set up for us. awh) and i wascovered in white paint. it was all over my hands, arms, trousers, face and beth's too. this was puzzling. there were vague recolections of drinking some 70% cider moonshine, drinking more of it, then some falling over, getting quite muddy and then even vaguer memories of finding a puddle of paint on the floor. it took a while to remove the paint from under my fingernails and stuff, and my head became unfuzzier as i enjoyed beth's homecooked breakfast, the sun was shining, life was goooood. we had a brilliant day looking round all the cool places in brighton, got a nice tapas meal and a cab home... when we stopped at a traffic light, we saw a puddle of paint on the floor the exact same colour as what had been all over the place... we looked up at the wall across the road, and lo and behold... in massive letters, two seperate scrawls, CHRIS 4 BETH and BW <3 CD... that explains that then. the mud... thats a different story
the whole weekend was amazing, beth's parents seemed to like me, her dog seemed to love me, her friends are great. brendan benson was class and brighton is sooooo nice. my new trainers are great, but losing my train tickets on the way home and having to buy a new one sucked big time. then alterkicks tonight were sweet too.

im off to see beth in brighton later today, i will be meeting her parents for the first time. this is the first time i've had to go through this kind of nervousness, i've got a stuffy cold and cough and it's not helping me keep a clear head. im sure it will be fine, im sure it will. ryan adams hasnt written any songs about this to help me like he has with everything else i've ever had to think about.
my electric razor just ran out of charge midshave, i look ridiculous.

hi
everything is going well... i never know what to write when im happy. what am i without angst. maybe i can angst because i have lack of angst. i cant really put into words my feelings for beth, except i just kinda did. ok ok, i just want to spare you what would be a highly sickly triade of soppiness. i didnt think i could fall further but i feel so much more in love over the last few days, it's been an amazing ephinany.
work is going ok, i like what im doing and im meeting great people all the time. exciting times ahead for me and the band i hope. i have had some funny experiences over the last few months, it's been a really crazy summer of love, music and late nights. i guess it's nearly novemeber and summer really has gone. i cant wait for christmas.
i'm off to see beth on saturday, we're going to watch brendan benson in brighton, i cant wait. oh yeah, and im meeting the parents! woah. bricking it slightly. not brendan bensons parents. that would be weird.
im having a week off this week, no staying out til all hours, im enjoying being home tonight. i cant stop listening to this song, 'sad eyes' by josh rouse, it's amazingly pretty.
i shall continue to do that now, i hope you are all happy x

me and beth are going strong, i love her, yes i do. not much else to say without making you all feel sick. i'm really really happy. things have been great since i met her.
everything at work is going well, i'll be running my third 'academy unsigned' on sunday. they're giving me an A&R title to go with running a new night called 'Replay' (www.mcrmusic.co.uk/replay) where i'll actually be picking, booking bands and running the gig. really good stuff. i think my boss is gonna give me some gigs to run at 'In The City' which would be awesome.
52s are still going good, we'll be playing a festival in January for 'Love Music Hate Racism' with The Longcut and Dead 60's in Bradford. It's good cos 52 Teenagers love music AND hate racism equally.
i went to see a Swedish band 'Shout Out Louds' last night at the roadhouse. it turned into an all night affair partying on til the wee hours. we took the band to 42nd Street after the show (which was the best gig the SoL's will ever play cos of us :D) and generally had a mint time.
i cant think of much else to say really. my voice is fucked, so is my throat and my head and eyes just dont wanna work.
i had 3 6" subways today for £3.27. bargain.

today at work i was given some cool news
they want me to start running one of the regular gigs they put on. this means lots of cool responsibilities and amazing experience.
i shall be the production manager for MCR Music's 'Academy Unsigned' nights, i get 60english for each one and might get to do up to 3 a week. i have to oversee the soundcheck, make sure all the bands are cool, get them their towells, water and a couple of cases of lager. i have to take all the ticket money and stuff. it's so exciting. ive been waiting for the opportunity to do this for a while. it's great great great.
first one is on sunday, i cant wait!

got a bunch of stuff flying around my head and no one to talk to about it. everyone either knows me too well or doesnt know me at all. i really wish i hadnt just fallen out with a couple of my best friends right now. sorry this is so vague, it kinda has to be.
in other news, this weekend was bliss with beth. for some reason she still digs me. i made her breakfast on saturday morning, that was so cool. odd thing to pick out of all the cool times we had, but it really stuck in my head. she likes her toast nearly burned and gets cranky if you dont spread the butter and jam right to the edges. i like it barely brown with haphazzard spreading shenanigans. at least we'll never steal each others toast.
we also watched the original batman movie, starring adam west and burt ward. it's hillarious and i reccomend it to anyone with a spare 90 minutes.
thursday was pretty much the perfect day
got up, went to work, decided to not do any database work and did some other, much cooler work, got plaudits from my bosses for doing a good job on said cooler work, got given two foo fighters tickets for me and beth, had a nice boots meal deal, got more cool work to do in the afternoon, was let out early to go meet beth, met beth, showed her said foo fighters tickets, saw her face light up, went home, had some quality bethtime, got treated to the best nandos ever by parents, went to see 52 play and acoustic set, waved at gav, hung out with loads cool people, had some more quality bethtime, fell asleep.
of coursethe next three days were also aweesome and spending more time in those days with my gorgeous girlfriend makes them automatically more perfect, but thursday tied up all aspects of my life and made them great. so thanks to whoever sorted that out for me. much appreciated.
i still have no money, i will be living like a hermit the next few weeks.
